This was the first app which works directly with my fritz.box and 1und1 as my SIP. As soon as they improve the design of the app or even make a widget for the OS X dashboard the app is absolutely great and I will give 5 stars!

Not pratical. Having to sign in with password each time. Suggest will work in "US Continant" however would not reckonise Canada area Codes. was assigned a Tennessee area code. Not useful if freinds and family have to place long distance calls to reach this service just so it contacts all our regular phones (home and both cells)
Just a bad app, deleted it right away DO NOT DOWNLOAD
how did this app make it into the canadian app store? it doesnt support canadian numbers and i cant even call my home phone wit it cause the number i got is in the states!! worst app ive seen so far on the store. should b taken off unless they make a canadian version
Ugly, and wouldnt connect to my SIP provider.
Not worth taking up space on your Mac for. It has trouble dialing any number you call, including 0. When you put somebody on hold t=the program automatically ends the call. Dont get it.
For $9.99 you are supposed to receive unlimited text and US calling. I’ve paid in over $30 in the past two weeks and gotten nothing of the sort. Contacting support yields evasive answers to the simplest questions. This company, if it exists, has not posted to its Facebook or Twitter accounts since 2014. Red flags all over the place.
It wont work every time it says service unavailble
I love my Whistle on Mac and iPod Touch. It does play a short commercial before placing an outgoing call but they are funny and over-the-top. When the Terminex ad was playing, I knew students who called just to play it for their friends. Network performance is definately a factor but my Whistle clarity is far better than my iPhone on speakerphone. A good addition to your communication toolkit and it works well with Google Voice. Especially good for kids with iPod Touches. They wont have connectivity in places without free WiFi but it does give them another communication channel after school.
well first, i made an account and activated it but then when i tried calliing, and it doesnt even make a call! i dont get it, i did everything right, my internet connection is completely fine and but it just doesnt work...a waste of time! so disappointed...
This app is pretty good for a free phone app. As long as you do not mind a 10-20 second intro commercial on outgoing calls, youll like this app.
If you travel internationally you can install this app either on your Mac or Windows laptop, or on your iPhone or iPod and call any US phone number for free, once you have internet access. It gets not better than this if you want to reach your folks at home on their phones without paying anything! I tried it yesterday both on my MacBook as well as on my iPhone both over wifi and over a 3G network and it worked well.
It works great for me even outside the US. Yes the message at the beggining can be anoying... but hey it is free.
My reviews are short, so Ill get to the point. This APP is a gem. Its clean, simple, easy to use and its FREE. There is an audio ad at the start of the call, but its well worth it when you dont want to use your phone in a bad reception area like your house!
Seems like a very solid app. However Id like to see a few features; primarily ability to record a voicemail message and texting. Its tough to use this service for anything other than talking to a few close friends while at the computer since theres no voicemail. Im curious to try using this in a business environment, though I NEED a voicemail to do so. Texting would be nice, though I text most friends through iChat/AIM.
I havent been able to try this app because of an idiotic mistake -- apparantly, when an developers says theyre going to email you a letter of confirmation, what they really mean is that they wont.
I cant believe this is free, I can use this app when Im at home because my phone gets really bad service where I live because I have an iPhone with AT&T of course. It does exactly what is says. Youve got to try it! =)
I like the whistle phone app..it def serves its purpose...The only downside is that pple complain about hearing an echo..kind of annoying
This is a great app for domestic calls for free. You do have to pay for international calling. There is also an iOS version to use.
app is good and functions well; also good that it is free, ads at the start of the out going calls are some what annoying
